Grisham’s first Book, Time to Kill was due to a luck meeting a young girl as he wrapped around the courts day. The The story is about a ten-year-old woman from the south who happens to be African American and has raped by two racist white guys. The girl’s dad finds out the narrative of this assault on his daughter and realizes that a similar incident happened some time back.
In a bid to protect others from the same harm, he kills both white guys and is later arrested. Then he calls his friend Jake to help, but the instance is made more complicated by the KKK seeking revenge for the death of both men. The next will raise much more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune into his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly? And what does it have to do with a bit of land once called Sycamore Row?
John Grisham returns to the atmosphere along with the persuasive personalities that established him as America’s favorite storyteller. Here, in his most assured and thrilling novel yet, is a powerful testament to the fact that Grisham is still the master of the legal thriller, almost twenty five years after the publication of A Time to Kill.

Clanton, Mississippi. 1990. Many in Clanton want a speedy trial and the death penalty, but Brigance digs in and finds that there is more to this story than meets the eye. Jake’s ferocious dedication to saving Drew in the gas room puts his career, his financial security, and also the protection of his family at stake.
In what may be the most personal and accomplished legal thriller of John Grisham’s storied career, we emphasise our acquaintance with the iconic Southern town of Clanton and the vivid cast of characters which so many readers know and cherish. The result is a richly rewarding novel that is both timely and timeless, full of wit, drama, and–most importantly –soul.
