Die Again by Tess Gerritsen: My honest thoughts on the book’s plot, characters, and overall impact.

This time the gutsy cop, Jane Rizzoli, and the intrepid medical examiner, Maura Isles, take their skills into the nitty-gritty of hunting big game for a killer whose hunting ground of choice is the roaring wilderness. Die Again is the new almost-missing-the-beat-in-excitement third installment of Tess Gerritsen’s best-selling series that was a major inspiration for the TNT drama series Rizzoli & Isles.

Then there is the crime scene of a big game hunter, Leon Gott, which includes claw marks to suggest that the murderer is a beast. Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles are the investigators ushered to the crime scene. They assume it is a human who has decided to go all out and massacre the unicorns.

Maura tries to connect this murder to other unsolved homicide cases in wooded locales across the United States, claiming that the massacres might be the result of a hunting trip in Botswana that took place six years ago. Some of the passengers that were on tour were killed by one of them, and only a surviving one.

But now the killer has come to Boston, and he is playing his deadly game once again. It now rests on Rizzoli and Isles to capture him alive, using the one survivor of the killer’s attack as bait so that they can make sure that he is caught and that he does not continue killing.

About Tess Gerritsen

Probably one of the most successful Stanford alumni, Tess Gerritsen, the internationally bestselling author, began her writing career circumstantially after getting her M. D. from UCSF. When she was pregnant and before she returned to work, she wrote her first book “Call After Midnight” in 1987. She has authored 32 suspense novels, with “Die Again” being bought by Amazon Studios.

CONCLUSION

In my opinion, Die Again by Tess Gerritsen can be recommended for all readers who like crime thrillers because the main characters are fascinating, and the story is rather provocative. Hailed as an exercise in literary suspense, the novel combusts with tension from start to finish and flattens out only to pick up more mystery.
