Having read Peace With Beasts by Utugi Wakari, I decided to get my hands on Whistle Blower by Tess Gerritsen, and I can now give you an insight into it. The plot gets underway when a man named Victor Holland emerges from the darkness and crosses the motorway right in front of Catherine Weaver’s car.

Washington, D.C., has yet again been the centre of some important occurrence; Victor has discovered a vile secret with which those at the pinnacle of power in the nation’s capital would stop at nothing to hide.

In the pleading, crazy-eyed hysteria that enthused his tale, Cathy saw the raving lunatic. Still, the haunted desperation that lingered in his glance and the gunshot wound behind his shoulder was eloquent, too. However, she realizes she cannot continue living like this and has to either place herself in the hands of Victor – a dangerous man – or trust him and escape. The film ‘Cathy’s Curse’ ended as the main character was forced to choose between trusting a man who was wanted by the police or giving herself into his hands.

Every hour increases the approach of their haters to them; thus, the level of risk and suspense also rises. The suspense, coupled with love and deceit, made me hold my breath every time Cathy decided to trust Victor, whether it was the right thing or she was merely putting herself in the hands of destruction.
