Tess Gerritsen is an Allan-born American author, novel, television scriptwriter, and physician born in San Diego, California on June 12th, 1953. She got her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and another from the University of California, San Francisco M.D. She is a doctor by profession, and as she was a mother, she had to pause her career. Then she started writing fiction.

Her first novel, Call After Midnight, was published a year later, followed by other novels, Her Other Self, Scar Deep as a Knife, in 1987. Eight more pieces of romantic suspense subsequently did the same in this. She also wrote the script of Adrift, which was acted on as a CBS Movie of the Week in 1993 with Kate Jackson in New York. She began writing medical thriller novels for the first time in her career in 1996, and her first novel was Harvest. She wrote a novel called Rizzoli and Isles, the Raw material for a television series.

They also present the Nero Wolfe Award for Vanish and the Rita Award for The Surgeon novel. Although she was a medical practitioner in the past, she is now a professional writer. Her latest works are Mephisto Club, Keepsake, Ice Cold, Silent Girl, Last to Die, Die Again, and Playing with Fire.
