I am glad that I got an opportunity to listen to / read the book Keeper of the Bride by Tess Gerritsen, and the first thing I wanted to do was share it. The novel’s setting is set up by displaying the main character, Nina Cormier, as a bride-to-be who gets left at the altar, which is the complete opposite of ‘the happily ever after.’
Complications soon set in as an explosives device detonated, providing her information that she was the target of the explosion and the bomb was on the church.
Nina continues to face more trouble in her life by sleeping with a stranger, who later tries to hit her car and cause an accident. What intrigues her is the fact that there is someone out there who wants her dead, although she has no clue who the person could be or what the reason behind it is. The plot was engaging and left me eager for more as Nina joined forces with a detective named Sam Navarro to find out the identity of the man who attempted her murder.
When the plot is unmasked, the film depicts a sociopath who has decided to turn the events into an incredibly deadly game. This is the plot that propels Nina and Sam as they must sift through the information as fast as possible to prevent somebody’s death at the hands of the murderer. I could hardly close the book; it was thrilling and interesting until the last page.
