The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen: My honest thoughts on the book’s plot, characters, and overall impact.

Well, it has been some time since I decided to read a novel that intrigued me, and one of the books I recently read is The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen. I would love to tell you all about this book. The novel’s main character is Julia Hamill – a woman who starts a new chapter in her life by moving into a new house with a piece of land in Massachusetts.

This is the skull discovered by medical examiner Maura Isles that has been murdered, as concluded by the presence of marks on the skull that indicate murder and hence will lead to a previous investigation.

Transporting the audience to Boston in 1830, we are introduced to Norris Marshall, a medical student who is an active and willing participant in the despicable trade of grave digging to practice and when he took the opportunity to get a medical degree. It escalates further when one of the nurses is killed in a gruesome manner, with Norris as a suspect in several murders. The innocent man, to prove his innocence, should get hold of Rose Connolly, the only witness to identify the killer.

Handsome youthful friend Oliver Wendell Holmes adds muscle to the team. Norris and Rose explore the treacherous alleyways of Boston, the graveyards, and the mansions over the murder mystery. Losing the bond between the 19th and 21st centuries, the novel presents a rather intriguing plot that can hardly be left mid-way as the suspense fully engages readers to the final twist.
