Lily hasn’t always been an easy girl. However, that hasn’t prevented her from striving to live the life she’s always dreamed of. She’s made a massive leap from the town where she was raised. She went to college, relocated to Boston, and started her own company. When she experiences the lust of a gorgeous neurosurgeon known as Ryle Kincaid, the whole world of Lily Kincaid appears like a dream to be accurate.
Ryle is assertive and stubborn, perhaps even arrogant. He’s also charming, brilliant and has a considerable affection for Lily. The way he appears in scrubs is undoubtedly not a bad thing. Lily isn’t able to remove him from her head. However, Ryle’s total aversion to relationships is troubling. As Lily discovers that she is the one exception to Ryle’s “no dating” rule, she’s left wondering why he was that way initially.
As the questions surrounding her new love life overwhelm the woman, she is also dominated by memories of Atlas Corrigan, her first love and the connection to her past that she had left behind. Atlas was her friend and her rock. When Atlas suddenly appears, all that Lily has constructed using Ryle is at risk.

In November of 2011, Colleen began writing her first novel, Slammed, with no intention of getting published. The story was inspired by a song lyric that read “decide what to be and go be it,” from an Avett Brothers song called “Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise.” In light of this, she used Avett Brothers lyrics throughout the story. After a couple of months, she had her book reviewed and awarded five stars by one of the most prominent author blogger Maryse Black.
