The new book has been written by the author of “ The Surgeon “ and “ The Apprentice. “ Maura Isles is a medical examiner in Boston, and she is searching for a dangerous killer who has committed a nasty act.
In the novel The Sinner, Tess Gerritsen sees the people of a New England community startle a gruesome crime scene: a convent. Within the chapel, two nuns have been attacked; one of the nuns is killed while the other one is struggling for her life. However, no one is sure as to why the nuns were assaulted.
Medical examiner Maura Isles uncovers a shocking revelation during the autopsy: details indicated that the young nun, Sister Camille, had given birth before being brutally murdered. A more sinister turn is introduced in the case when another victim with his genitals severed is discovered in a deserted structure.
