In Vanish: A Rizzoli & Isles Novel, it’s the turn of a medical examiner Maura Isles to have the fright of her life when a dead body in front of which she is about to carry out autopsy opens its eyes. This woman, who is presumed to be dead, was taken to the hospital where she shoots a security guard and takes hostages including a pregnant detective Jane Rizzoli.
Days go by, the mysterious woman is revealed and Maura needs the help of Jane’s husband FBI agent Gabriel Dean to find out the real face behind the beauty. However, as their investigation begins, so does the interference of the federal agents, and the hosts uncover a case much more complex than a simple hostage crisis.
With the involvement of a woman carrying a firearm, the case is now on Jane Rizzoli who has the potential to solve the puzzle. The hope of getting the facts about the passion of their unwanted visitor becomes possible only if she is still alive.
